With “5th Dimension” Düsseldorf-based guitarist and composer Philipp Wisser presents an album that brings contemporary jazz into a focused, minimal aesthetic. The starting point isn’t a concept, but an experience: the appeal of simplicity — of moments that speak for themselves.

Over more than two years, Wisser worked with Christoph Klenner, Conrad Noll, and Daniel Guerrero to shape a repertoire that feels both thoughtful and energetic. The band stepped away from standard production routines, letting the music develop at its own pace — listening closely, revising, refining. The album was recorded live and without overdubs, resulting in an honest snapshot of a quartet whose title track features an additional, defining voice: Vincent Pinn on flugelhorn.

The compositions blend modern grooves, melodic clarity, and open spaces for improvisation. They highlight a band that combines structural focus with a readiness to explore — a group that has shaped a sound that is distinct, balanced, and contemporary.
