The band Blind Spot comes from Berlin / Düsseldorf and made a remarkable debut with the album "Frontmirror" (JazzSick Records).
Consisting of three accomplished musicians Philipp Wisser (guitar), Joan Chávez (bass) and Noël Lardon (drums), this trio combines elements of traditional jazz with modern production techniques to create a unique sound, exploring the boundaries of jazz, blues and ambient in new ways.
Musically, Blind Spot circles around clear, catchy themes on "Frontmirror." They modulate, modify, stumble, fall and catch each other again in their musical process. This results in a lively interplay that is further enhanced by the use of modern live electronics. The variety of sounds transforms the simple melodies into multi-layered constructs and gives them multiple dimensions.
In one moment completely tangible and in the next again diffuse-obscure. Blind Spot play quite naturally with contrasts without falling prey to arbitrariness. Just as our blind spots behave.
